Challenge

Our team was brought on to design a straightforward onboarding flow for workers and companies that navigate through classification challenges and numerous legal requirements.

As with many early stage products and fast moving timelines, we managed a frequently changing project scope while not losing sight of our clients needs. We implemented an agile approach with daily standups and weekly sprints, which helped keep the project on track.

Here is a preview of our work. Please note that due to an NDA, I'm unable to show the full prototype and design.

Approach

Our design team performed a competitive analysis of similar companies to understand the end to end HR space. We set goals and navigated through numerous pain points that surfaced throughout the design challenge.

We worked through several design iterations to develop an onboarding system that would serve as the base interaction with GreenLight and would integrate seamlessly with partner companies.

As part of a team of product designers, I worked on every phase of the onboarding flow for both the worker and the client. I focused on research, low-fi sketches, mid-fi design, and prototyping.

Worker Onboarding

Due to a number of legal requirements, it is essential to classify a worker correctly. After several iterations, with CEO's help we came up with a complete task flow for worker onboarding.

White Label Integration

Our goals began to shift when the GreenLight CEO started to pitch his product to established companies in an effort to demonstrate how GL could integrate and benefit their cause. As a result, our design team had to pivot from visuals to designing an efficient way for GL to integrate with partner companies. Having a design system in place proved to be invaluable in this step.

Learnings

This project was challenging to navigate and fully understand due to changing objectives. As part of a design team, my belief in keeping organized files and having a design system in place was reaffirmed and led to the team's success.
